"Sacred Spirit Bears"
Fundraising Print
Symbol of: Gentleness, Kindred Spirit, Hope,
Goodness & Protection

"Today two thirds of the spirit bears last intact habitat on Canada's west coast is protected, but the final third - critical to their survival - is open for development.  We must work together with all of the issues and stakeholders to find a meaningful and lasting solution to this debate that allows for the remaining habitat to be saved so that the spirit bear can forever be wild and free.  With your support, I have no doubt we will succeed."
D. Simon Jackson, Founder - Spirit Bear Youth Coalition

This print is a "Story Teller" of the Spirit Bears found ONLY in the Temperate Rainforests of the Royal Princess Island in British Columbia, Canada.

The Native Tshimshian Legend state that "Raven the Creator went amongst all black bears and made every 10th one born, born white as a symbol of the pure ice age when the world was good and right".

The Spirit Bear is a result of a double recessive ancient gene pool resulting in roughly every 10th black bear born to be born white (not albino). The Scientists have found that this double recessive gene is a result of living in the habitat of the Great Bear Rainforest and eating salmon off of the forest floor.  Their habitat is the richest flora and fauna generator in the world.  The spirit bears are endangered due to logging of the rainforest.  The ancient massive trees in the temperate rainforest provide shade in order to have the salmon spawn - the main diet of the spirit bears.  Logging is threatening extinction of this beautiful, gentle and rare bear only found in  Canada with less than 175 in existence.  Please see: www.spiritbearyouthcoalition.org for further information on how to help save the spirit bear from extinction. The spirit bear has never once hurt a human being.

"THE CREATOR"
Symbol of: God, Creator, Grace, Spirit, Healing, Service

The Bald Eagle symbolizes the Guiding Force of Power, Wisdom and Grace of the Creator.

It is said that the Eagle is the most sacred of our Animal Kingdom as it flies the highest and in doing so, touches the cheeks of God.

The eagle is one of the greatest birds of prey.  When we "wear" the eagle we are seeking the protection of "The Creator"

"WOLF MEDICINE"
Wolf

Symbol of:Free Spirit, Loyalty and Belonging in the Pack, Stamina, Strength, Magic

To the Native American Indians as well as many of us, the Wolf symbolizes the powerful teachings and wisdom that "Wolf Medicine" can bring.
It's striking beauty and spirit are both mysterious as well as magical

Ironically, when I was in grade 4 my Art Teacher "Skye Rodney" brought in her two real "pet" wolves into our art class.  It was on that very special day that she instructed us to look directly into the wolves eyes and draw them.  We had never been taught to draw eyes before that day.  It was that very special day spent gazing into the amazing eyes of the wolves that changed me inside forever.  I received the gift of capturing the eyes of the animals, a gift I will always treasure as the eyes radiate the depth of spirit and soul within.
Decades later while walking the grounds of the Canadian McMichael Art Gallery I was enamored with a visiting exhibition of bronze wolves.  While literally petting the wolf, I made a wish that one day I too would become a Sculptor....a month later I became one.  To understand that completely, I would have to say that prior to this wish coming true, I could draw animals but could never sculpt three dimensional art.  I can't honestly say that I knew the power of what unfolded as I didn't really think anything was going to come of my wish until I looked back at it in hindsight.  Needless to say, I am living proof that the wolf has a powerful and magical medicine gift.  Thank Heavens, some wonderful wishes do in fact come true and can change our lives forever!  EYES COLOURED IN ON EACH PRINT - BLUE, BROWN, AMBER

"Sacred Ecosystems"
Beaver, Orca Whale & Bald Eagle
Symbol of: Builder/Creator, Beauty, Wilderness, Protection

The saying "busy as a beaver" was not created in haste.  The beavers are our planet's architects, engineers, builders and sculptors.
The beavers have been a long misunderstood creature on our planet.  They are our "unsung heroes", for without the beavers we would have no wildnerness, ecosystems or habitat for other wildlife.  When we watch them create dams they are incredibly hard workers devoted to their cause. The Orca was used in the print to depict the oceans voice in saving the beavers.  The Orca is often considered as the quiet voice within - the knowing without knowing, what way is best. Most people have truly been "conditioned" to believe that beavers are vicious pests and must be destroyed or removed.  Through talking with my wildlife rehabilitation partners, it is obvious that nothing could have been further from the truth.  The beavers are gentle creatures who never hurt anyone.  I only wish we could say the same about humans to beavers. It is our hope that someday the beavers will have the sacred protection equivalent to the bald eagle.

"Dance with your Spirit"
Penguins - Symbolic Meaning -
Nurturing Creative Energy, Sense of Adventure, Lighthearted Easy Fun

The Penguins are well known for the idyllic devotion they have to their un-hatched chicks and penguin clans. It is through this devotion that we can see a parallel as humans to devote more time to that which we truly enjoy and lightens our hearts.  Sometimes it is gifting ourselves the sense of adventure and spontaneity to try new things and break down our own limiting beliefs.  In doing so, we do what makes our spirits young and alive with freedom, flow and grace.  "Dancing with your Spirit" is the key not only to fulfillment but to health, belonging and happiness.  In "Dancing with your Spirit" we feel more fulfilled and are able to add a better energy to our planet, The Greater Good and all those who cross our paths.

"SURRENDER OR SUSTAIN"...the Question is Ours
Polar Bear sinking through the broken, melting iceburg.

Symbol of: Courage, Faith, Beauty, Purity, Hope, Unity of Right Action

This was my first line drawing of the polar bears.  I sensed a strong message from Mother Earth coming through in the form of a question to accompany this print. While simplistic, it is deep with meaning and a question certainly worth not only pondering but standing up for.  The polar bear has tears streaming down it's face as it faces it's journey without hope, without answers and without a voice to be heard.  As humans, we can relate to the emotions of the polar bear and see ourselves in this print when we have been faced with our own despair, disappointment and feeling like we were at the end of our rope, without faith, without a much needed hand up and not a hand "out".
Do we surrender them by turning our backs or do we sustain them because we are alive with a purpose to sustain all that is good, right and beautiful for generations to come?

"YOU WANT ME TO DO WHAT????" Penguins

Symbolic of: Parent/Child, Friend, Teacher, Communication, Fun, Humor

What parent, relative, friend, teacher can't relate to this!??
In the midst of doing my "Our Sacred Animal Kingdom" series I felt I just wanted to do something fun and lighthearted that would illicit a smile and a "I can relate to that" response! I chuckled thinking that it could even remind us of a time we were asked to join in on some fun times with a close friend! Great memories of great friends, times and places are amazing in lifting our spirits and returning some fun into our lives.

We can also relate to the devotion we have to our conscience, that small deep voice we have within us that wants us to do things we know we should in order to take the "high road" or as the Aboriginals refer to it..."The Good Red Road"...and be HAPPY we did!

It is my hope that by looking at this print in a personal way, it will help lift your spirits and bring a smile to your day!

"Freedom of Beauty & Spirit" - Orca Whale

Symbol of: Power, Freedom, Spontaneity, Beauty

I have been incredibly drawn to the Orca ever since I was commissioned to do my first Orca Whale Sculpture entitled "Freedom of Truth & Spirit".  When I am asked to do an animal I have never done before, I put extensive hours of research into it's spirit, movement, habitat, behaviour and communication.  I achieve this by researching the internet as well as ask the professionals who work first hand with them or research them for any information they are willing to share.  Surprisingly enough, everyone has been incredibly helpful knowing that my main purpose in any of my artistry is to do the animal/marine mammals justice and to show their importance on our Mother Earth.  What fascinated me more than anything was not so much what the "Whale Professionals" said, but the "look" in their eyes and how their faces changed when they talked about the whales.  They were overcome with emotion of sentiment and reverance.  All of them said they have never been the same since they were in the water and looked directly into the eye of a whale.  So massive, so full of tremendous power and yet gentle giants of our oceans and seas.  It was clear to me that the Orca and all whales have alot more to teach us than we ever will realize.  The grace in their movements, the wisdom in their strength and presence is truly breathtaking.  Many of us often say "good things come out of the blue" and when I say it I automatically picture a whale appearing out of the water in all it's beauty.  Often in life, it feels like our emotions can reach the depth of the ocean floors to the delight of pure enjoyment, achievements and play.  The Orca whales have such a sense of adventure, beauty, Grace and freedom that I honestly don't know how anyone could not respect nor admire them.  They carry ancient wisdom showing us that by balancing our negative (black) and positives (white) we can create beauty and fun in the world for ourselves and each other.   They are the voices of our oceans, depths of our souls, delight in our spirits and breath of our precious planet.

"Shared Land" - Polar Bear and Seal

Symbol of: Respect, Humanity, Unity, Sharing, Communication, Resolve, Co-existence & Peace

In our wold today we witness the food chain of nature where the polar bears in fact feed on the seals for survival.  In this print, however idyllic in theory, it isn't entirely impossible to associate this depiction of "Shared Land" to that of Humanity.  I often remember camp songs like "This land is your land, this land is my land...this land was made for you and me."  Our land is, and always was meant to be shared.  We must get to a point where we respect and view each other with fewer power struggles and accept that we all have our own ways of seeing things and the world at large.  Somehow, someway, perhaps there is a way to show more kind humanity towards one another, the way I feel the Goodness in the Creator intended.  We are all here walking the same land, bearing our own crosses and held on this earth by Gravity, Spirit and Service.  Perhaps, when we naturally respect that each of us are unique and bring our own gifts and visions to this world we can use them in a way to compliment each others purpose.  It is then that we might bring about a brighter world full of hope, enlightenment and warmth serving the greater good of all.  We each play a part in "History", but what part of history do we want to be remembered for?

I know some of the people at first glance of this print will automatically conclude that the polar bear and seal could never co-exist in harmony without suffering.  However, Mother Nature has a way of speaking through fascinating real life stories which quite frankly defeat the odds and any tangible bit of logic.  There are stories of "Brutus" the grizzly bear who was raised as a cub by Casey Anderson in Montana, USA.  Brutus lives and plays in the wild with his own kind and yet comes into Casey's house for turkey dinners and was "Best Man" at his wedding!  We have all seen and heard of stories where two animals or a human and an animal should have been eaten alive, but instead carried a very special and unique bond.  While rare, it isn't unheard of and some very special connections do exist and are possible, even between humans when we are willing.  With respect, tender care and appreciation, without power struggles, this planet could be a warmer, more beautiful "Shared Land" with a Spirit of Community. We are a conduit to each others hopes, dreams and visions for life.
"All my Relations" (We are all connected)

"Spirit of the Skies"
Goose, Blue Heron, Mallard Duck, Blue Jay, Song Sparrow Limited Edition
Symbols - Grace, Beauty, Flight, Song, Spirit & Freedom

One constant I have always been able to count on is the quiet beauty, color, flight and grace of the brids.  Whether they are in flight, perched in a tree or roaming the grass, they have that gentle magnetism which draws our attention to what is beautiful and sweet.  I am in absolute awe of the Creators hand when sculpting these gorgeous winged Masterpieces!  The tiny details of the glistening eyes, the intricacy of each feather, the way they fly from tree to tree, the distinct songs they call out to each other are nothing short of miraculous and moving free spiritness.  To be walking through nature, hear their songs and watch them fly is a priviledge which I treasure.  I often wondered if their songs are something that our spirit and souls know how to translate to us in a meaningful, lighthearted kind of way.  There is no doubt, The Creator was in Masterpiece Glory when creating the real "Spirit of the Skies" in the birds we get to enjoy each and every day....absolutely flawless!

"Walking the Path of the Grizzly"
Grizzly Bear, Bald Eagle, Eagle Feather, Grizzly Bear Paw Tracks

Symbol: Manifestation of Rightful Dreams and Goals

The Aboriginal Teachings say that the Grizzly Bear carries powerful "medicine" for manifesting ones dreams  goals and visions.  When we are passionate about pursuing a dream we take it into our minds like the bears retreat into their dens.  When we take steps towards making our dreams and visions for our lives happen it is symbolic of how the bear comes out of hybernation in the spring and has cubs. The bear tracks are symbolic of one foot towards the goal and the other one as marking its manifestation in our lives.  The grizzly guards it's desires and the eagle protects both throughout the process.

I sculpted "Walking the Path of the Grizzly" out of soapstone for my good friend and Shaman, Victoria Wilde. The story of how this sculpture unfolded out of stone is written on the "Feature Stories" portion of my website.  It was a very powerful, moving and uplifting story and sculpture process!

"Protect True Love"
Polar Bear and Cub
Symbolic: Protection, Guardian, Sacred, Beautiful, Precious, Eternal

this print is symbolic of how we can relate as heartfelt humanity to the emotions of this polar bear parent was feeling and continues to feel.

When we can relate to another whether animal, human or nature, we understand and in that understanding we do what we can to keep them safe.  In the process of doing all we can to nurture, praise, protect and assist all that we care about we discover how deep our loves devotion goes and how incredibly sacred it will eternally be.

"The Ocean's Speak" Bring Balance to the World
Northern Right Whale, Orca Whale, Dolphin, Beluga Whale, Dolphin, Seal

Symbol of: Gentle Giants , The Beauty & Free Spirit of The Creator, Balancing Life, Reaching out to Others

This print flowed into being.  I have had a strong partnership with the Canadian Whale Institute who specialize in saving the right whales by bringing awareness to the need to protect our oceans and all life within it.  The "Right Whale" was coined as such  as it was considered to be the "easy and right whale" to kill because of its friendly nature.  If that is not backwards, I don't know what is!!!!  The Right Whale is without question the "Gentle Giant of our Oceans".  It has the tremendous size of a school bus and yet has never used it to hurt anyone.  It is often misunderstood and undervalued due to the way it looks with the callluses on its head and body and looking different from the rest of the whales.  Once again, the old saying "don't judge a book by its cover" applies.  My good friend Sarah Haney founded the Canadian Whale Institute and often speaks with enormous reverence in her eyes as she expresses her love for the right whale and its plight on our planet.  Each time she speaks, I am further moved to help bring awareness to this beautiful, gentle creature and all ocean/sea life.  She says that when you look into the huge, beautiful eye of the whale, you are never the same...that was obvious by how the sentiment within her being changed as she spoke.  I also decided to add the beluga whale for its pure white beauty and joyful expression and the orca whale (top) for it is easily recognizable.  the seal on the bottom left is trying to bring balance to the oceans floor in hopes for a better world and the dolphin is representing the healing steps required in order to have balance.  They are all gentle creatures whom deserve respect, protection and our kindred friendship.  The orca, the dolphin, the beluga and the seal are reaching out to save the Right Whales and the oceans, but will we?

"The Life Force's Healing Heart"
Dolphins
Symbol: Friendship, Healing, True Joy, Good things Come in Threes

The dolphins have long been respected for their friendly spirit, beauty, joy and fun healing ways.  There have been countless reports of their ability to gift handicapped children and adults with the ability to walk by miraculously knowing which muscles to nudge with their divine gift of knowing how to heal.  I used the combination of the Life Force (lightening symbol on top dolphin), the native healing symbol (on the second dolphin resembling the suns rays) and the heart on the third dolphin to show that all three have to be flowing together for true miracles to occur and take hold.  The dolphins are one species which garner a smile from everyone whom has ever had the pleasure of seeing them as they easily swim, play and flow in the waters in the Life Force and are joyful in doing so. May you be blessed with the healing powers of "Dolphin Medicine" today and everyday.

"Friends for Life"
Beavers

Symbol: Cherished, Wise, Quiet, Caring, Forgiving, Contributor to our Planet, Beauty of Spirit and Gentleness, True Blessing

When we seek to learn, understand and get to know, we always end up protecting what and who we care deeply about.  When we begin to see the parallel between an animal's personality and human character, the friendship grows with each passing day.  Beavers are gentle creatures highly deserving of our respect for all they are by character, as well as purpose.  They have been greatly misunderstood and undervalued for all they are and bring to our beautiful planet.  Alot of misconceptions have been as a result of what we have been "conditioned" to believe or "bought into".  If you ask anyone who rehabilitates beavers you will quickly discover they are not vicious pests, they are gentle, sweet creatures eager to live in service of their purpose.  They are Nature's Architects, Engineers, Builders and Sculptors.  There would be no wilderness or ecosystems without them.

When we as humans become frustrated with life's challenges we often retreat to a quiet part of nature or the wilderness to help us quiet our minds and restore our spirits.  That very place where we go to has been provided to us by the Creator, Mother Earth and the Beavers.  We just may need them more than they need us.

The same place of refuge and understanding is also found if we are privileged enough to have a close friend we can confide in and who can confide in us. The foundation of "The True Spirit of Friendship" resides when there is a kindred common ground of like ways, respect, appreciation, forgiveness and love that knows no bounds. The same applies to the beavers but we first need to appreciate them for the gentle creatures they are and the great purpose they serve.

We all need friends; human friends, friends of nature, friends in spirit and be proud to call them our "Friends for Life".

To all those who have the "Friends for Life" Spirit, thank you for being all that you are!  We can't imagine our lives without you!

"Healing Otter"

Symbol of: Healing, Carefree Play & Enjoyment,
Healing effects of Kindness

The sea otter and river otter are known to be charismatic, cute and special creatures of the land and sea.  The sea otters spend hours on end cracking open their shells and the river otters throw stones in the water just for play.  They are hard workers and yet balance their lives with play.  Otters have fun just being otters.  They are vocal communicators and show their emotions and fears.  They are devoted and affectionate parents with a quiet wisdom to prioritize what matters most.  By admiring the otters ways, we are being reminded that we need to make time for enjoyment and in doing so we not only heal our spiritual deficits, but our health ones too. "Swimming" with our spirit goes a long way towards making us feel better about life and gifts us more energy to give back to others who count on us.

(The eyes are individually coloured in on the otter)

"Gift them Wings to Fly"
Geese & Goslings
Symbol: Compassion, Direction, Guidance, Assistance,  Freedom and Family/Team Spirit

I have always viewed geese as wise in their natural ways.  I started thinking about how they fly in a "V" formation which allows the strongest one to take the lead.  When the leader becomes tired, another one takes the lead so that the others don't have to work so hard to get to their destination.  It isn't a power struggle; it is a display of compassion and understanding. When we watch in fascination as the geese fly by not alone, but in a flock, we are being asked if it is time to take the lead, or simply, go with the flow and arrive at the same destination with less effort by allowing Spirit to take the lead.  Spirit has given us free will, but we first need to give up this will and be accepting of support which can show up in the form of a person, change of circumstances, good luck or assistance in our lives.  Success in never a solo journey.  We need each other to get to our desired goals, dreams in life and to live a life with purpose, on purpose.  Geese are nature's reminder of the right way of doing things and to surrender our "fight or flight" determination for an easier journey.  Together, we can help gift each other the "Wings to Fly" and create life the way Nature intended and would love.

"Act Before It's Too Late"
Polar Bear & Cub
Symbol: Protection, Emotion, Fear

This print was again inspired by the plight of the polar bears.  It speaks for itself in that we need to "Act Before It's Too Late" and the polar bears who now grace our land become angels due to extinction.  The bears feel emotions the same way humans do. There are tears streaming from the eyes of the parent polar bear as his/her love runs deeper than it ever knew it possibly could.

The Love Between a Parent/Child or
Our Pets

"Loved For Eternity"
Swans

Symbol of:  Unconditional Love

The swans are well recognized for their ability and desire to be together for life because the love runs so deep that they cannot imagine life without them.

The immense love for a child or pet is one which knows no bounds.  Our pets are our children too.  They gift us the beautiful wisdom and truth inside that we are capable of loving deeply and be loved in return.  They show us what endless love feels like...a gift that just keeps giving and becoming greater with each passing day.

In terms of pets, they show us how unnecessary words are and that it is the way we show our love that really counts. The purest love needs no words just has to be expressed with companionship, closeness and devotion.

True love is when you love them enough for both of you. In fact, true love needs no explanation, it's purpose is clear and its deepness is eternal.  Not even life can come between love that is that incredible. We can have peace knowing that we will be "Loved for Eternity."

"Lend them a Helping Hand"

Symbol: Compassion, Generosity, Healing of Self & Others, Uniting for the Greater Good of All Involved

The penguins are known for their divine devotion to one another.  in the life of the penguins, when a storm is on its way they huddle together to share their warmth and protect each other from the affects of the storm.  They dance, they waddle, they swim, they nurture, they heal each other and all by just "being there for one another.  When following "Penguin Wisdom" we can better ensure we get through the challenging times in our lives and help one another survive our storms until the wind settles and the sun returns.  The penguins naturally open their hearts to help one another and see each other as ONE kind, versus who is successful and who is not.  Penguins also have the same emotions as humans.  They tear, they grieve, they dance, they triumph over challenges, they celebrate...together they can make it through anything.

"Restore their Spirit"
Limited Edition of 150
Symbol of: Compassion, Devotion, Nurturing Spirit, Hope, Guidance, Overcoming Challenges, The Higher Power

The environmental state of our planet is starting to get on the right track but has lots of room for improvement yet to go.  This print is indicative of our current state of affairs with the global warming affecting our polar bear populations.  There are good, sound reportings that animals have the same emotions as humans. This print shows how the mother/father polar bear feels stranded as it is left with its two young cubs and the iceburg is melting under its feet.  The adult is desperately seeking a helping hand and is concerned as to what is going to be the future for its family, wondering if all hope is gone.  Together, we can restore hope for the bears as well as other human beings.  When we can relate, we can understand.  When we understand and care we reach out to lend that helping hand and not only restore spirit but restore hope and show the world it can be done given the right devices. In the process we not only restore their spirits but our own as well. They make our planet SUCH a beautiful and magical place to be alive.

"You are not alone..I will be strong for you"
Penguins

Symbol of: Protection, Strength, Friendship, Guiding Force and Healing Light

I don't know where this composition came from, other than, it was within me.  All of us have our crosses to bear and some that we don't possibly see a way to survive.  We may be going through it ourselves or have a family member or friend enduring a great heartache or illness. Speaking from my own experience, it gets tiring being strong and being the caregiver or the one enduring struggle. When another shows their strength and lends us that strength we are nurtured the way we are meant to be nurtured.  A burden shared, is half a burden".  Together, the strength is more and the fight is less.

"Soul Friends"
Swans

Symbol of: Friendship, Healing Ways, Support & Kindness

If we are lucky, our souls reach out and introduce us with our true soul friends.  These friends are ones that we instantly are comfortable with and share that special "kindred spirit".  Friends whom together you travel life with and can never imagine your life without them. "Soul Friends" are true blessings, with no disguise. Together, you have the power to heal, make each other smile, to laugh till you cry and to be there when you need them the most.

I hope you have enjoyed viewing my  Collectors Series!

I have been doing this form of art since I studied Graphic Arts in High School.  They are "free flowing" compositions. I do not sketch them out in advance, they just flow onto paper unplanned and yet with a compelling purpose of Spirit I can only name the "Voice of the Animals & Mother Nature".  As you can tell from my website, I am in awe of the Creator of our Universe and the animals themselves.  When we look into the animals we are drawn towards at different times in our lives, we can usually see a parallel to what is going on in our lives and find a wisdom teaching from the animals right before our eyes.

I will be adding additional prints on a relatively frequent basis to add to the Collectors Series.

"Divine Union"

Symbol of: Wisdom, Freedom and Grace of the Creator, True Blessings

This print is symbolic of how Divinity has provided some wonderful people, places and special circumstances in your life as gifts.  These  are people who we are blessed to have in our lives and we thank the Spirit of Heaven and Earth for placing them on our paths through life.

When we focus on the "Divine Unions" in our lives we can only end up feeling abudantly grateful to have them make our worlds a better place.  They gift us strength, friendship and tender loving care to embrace life and all that is within it.

May you continue to have many blessings of
"Divine Union" in your life today and always.

"Moon Medicine"
Wolf, Medicine Wheel, Eagle Feather

Symbol of: Communicating with the Heart Medicine of the Universe,
Beauty, Sacredness of the Medicine Wheel, Sense of Greater Purpose, Magic & Beauty

I love sketching animals as I am able to achieve the shading in a free flowing way while creating the depth of spirit and nature.  This print was inspired by the saying "howling with the moon".  In this depiction, the wolf is respectfully communicating and seeking deepened wisdom in its relationship to the Spirit of the Moon, the Medicine Wheel and The Creator.  The Medicine Wheel of our hearts is represented as the circle of the moon.  When we speak with our hearts and act with our hearts, spirit is working in circles connecting us with our kindred souls and reminding us why we are here.  We deepen our souls and hold in our hearts a strong sense of belonging to Mother Earth and Father Sky and to all others who walk along our paths.

The Universe holds within it a powerful and magical energy which permeates the boundaries and limitations we believe exist.  True peace can be found when harmonizing our Medicine Wheel" and discovering what works best for our own individual needs.  If we are blessed beyond measure, we will happen upon something which will help create a cure for others as well.  Open, honest communication with each other can create "spirit heart medicine" which balances the body, mind, spirit and soul.

May "Moon Medicine" help you have peace of mind, spirit and soul in whatever ways are possible today and all days in your life's journey

"Kindred Spirit"

Symbol of: Special Kindred Spirits - Human and Animals
Healing Ways, Support & Kindness

The GREATEST thing in life I believe are when we are introduced by life to our "Kindred Spirits".  These are people, pets and animals we don't have to explain ourselves to and we just magically have a great relationship with.  We are of like minds, devotions and actions of the heart.  It is when their friendship bestows us the incredible gift of being ourselves and being liked and loved for what we bring to each others lives.  Our "Kindred Spirits" put us at ease, comfort us, celebrate with us and help us to know we have a place in their lives and belong even though our life's path or journeys may be different.  They carry a mutual understanding and respect far superior to any other in our lives.

May you always have at least one "Kindred Spirit" in your life today and always through human, pet and wildlife companionship.

"LOYAL SPIRIT" - HORSE

Symbol of: Loyalty, Power, Freedom of Spirit, Gentleness & Beauty

There are many people who are naturally drawn to horses and/or grew up with them. Our saying "hold on to your horses" is often said when we need to "tame" the spirit.   When we follow our Spirit and are loyal, our quiet Spirit will show us which direction or way to go to rise above our difficulties and not be defeated. When we are honouring our truth by doing what we truly enjoy, we enhance our health on all levels. No other animal has contributed more to the spread of civilization than the horse due to its loyal and devoted service. Horses are often used to rehabilitate children and adults with physical and mental challenges as the horse's movement and gait mimics the human body''s when walking and balancing.  These movements thereby activate the appropriate sensors in the brain needed for walking on their own someday.  These incredible creations of the Creator continue to live their lives in service of others.

(The eyes are coloured in brown on each print.)

"Spirit of the Unicorn"
Unicorn

Symbol of: Magic, Mysterious, Nice Surprises

Many people have fond childhood memories of reading stories about the mystery and magic of the unicorn.  As adults, with numerous responsibilities it is easy to stray away from believing true magic exists.  Whether one considers special things happening as magic, mystery or miracles, they do exist .
Gravity in itself is magic or the Great Mystery. There is magic in meeting a beautiful kindred friend, there is magic in the seed taking hold, there is magic in beautiful energy. We just need to believe and look for the wonder and magic in life and love itself.
Just look through the eyes of a child and you will find it there.

"Spirit of Uniqueness"
Zebra

Symbol of: The beauty of being yourself, Celebrating your Uniqueness

Zebras stripes are as unique as our own human fingerprints.  Within each species there is a common denomenator of thin/thick stripes, joined, etc..but they are all uniquely different even within the species.  We can easily see a parallel to humanity and  with our own unique personalities making us distinctly "us". When we find our kindred friends and colleagues whom share a common unique vision, beautiful masterpieces unfold.

Eyes coloured in on each print

"Spirit of Gentleness"
Horse

Symbol of: The beauty of gentleness in our hearts and in our lives

There is nothing more beautiful than that of a gentle animal or person.  The ones you can truly be yourself with, without judgement or pressure to keep up a certain outlook or strength.  Gentle souls are the true heros of our planet.  As humans, we can each bring forth the beautiful gifts of gentle ways which show comfort, Grace, and peace for our fellow man.

Eyes will be coloured in on each print

"Spirit of Magic"
Unicorn

Symbol of: Believing in the Magic within yourself ,others and the Universe

Sometimes it is easy to fall into the hole of taking life so seriously that we not only stop believing, but we stop seeing it.  It is one magical day when we can open our hearts to believing in the magic of love and life.  The Power of Love is magic beyond words except perhaps "wooosh"!  There is magic happening when you need a friend and one calls or appears.  There is magic in how one's goals/dreams or visions manifest in reality by linking you to what you need to make it REAL.
Now that's magic!  Look for magic's love to tap you on the shoulder and it will. We just have to believe again and we will feel it, see it and experience it.  It's in the beauty of a flower, its in every triumph no matter how big or small.  There is the spirit of magic in all things, sometimes it just takes the right things to bring them out.  Maybe you will be used as a conduit to making someone's dream come true?!  That would be an awesome kind of magic for all involved!

"Captain - Spirit of Service"
Horse

Symbol of: Celebrating those who give (and gave) their lives in service
to others, including the Horse!
DEDICATED TO ALL OF OUR UNSUNG HEROES WHO ARE
"GOODNESS PERSONIFIED"

I intuitively sensed a regal yet warm, safe feeling when I was illustrating this line drawing.  First and foremost, I would have to extend a sincere "thank you" to our Canadian and USA Troops overseas who fight for our freedom everyday and the ones of whom we have sorely lost . Then came the Firefighters who daily risk their lives to save others and equip themselves with Emergency Task Measures so we feel safe and cared for.  The Police Officer who protect us from violence. To the Teachers who passionately believes in the talent of a student or uses their own money to pay for something the child needs to survive.  All pictures of those who had professionally chosen a career in the "Spirit of Service" were twirling through my conscience.  As it all unfolded, I visioned all of the truly loving moms, dads, grandparents and children who continually and naturally give out of service on a daily basis.  Then came friends whom have shown up at a moment which really mattered without asking them to.  Those whom have seen us struggle and naturally offered a helping hand, a smile, a kind and warm look of hello.  We never know the difference we can make with a random act of kindness. Years later that very person you naturally helped without thinking twice about will remember your kindness and goodness and carry that rooted in their hearts for all the days of their lives.  Let goodness be contagious, it's the BEST feeling in the entire world to give, be the recipient of and then give back again.  You see, I know first hand because I carry them in my heart every single day. Thank you is not enough.  I want all of those that have touched my life to know what a difference you have made in my life and my daughters and that without a word of a doubt, the "pay it forward" rule is now written in the book of my soul.
A special thank you to my teachers, family and friends for not only believing in my artistry but expressed it with enthusiasm.  Their confidence in my abilities became seeds which harvest each and every day of my life." Dawna

"Free Spirit"
Horse

Symbol of: The beauty of celebrating our Free Spirit in a State of Bliss

It is a beautiful day when we take the time to enjoy what we love doing and who we enjoy being "free spirits" with.  We are encapsulated "in the moment" where we are entirely present, and immersed and in a state of true "bliss"

Any day that we "get to be" a free spirit and enjoy life fully is a day worth putting in our book entitled "Highlights of my Soul".  Whether it is a day doing what you used to just LOVE doing or going out for some fun with a friend, it has freedom, beauty, passion and uplifts us to a place we knew life could be.  Release your inhibitions and just enjoy your free spirit living the surprises life has along the way.  You will be glad you did and so will those around you.  The world needs your good energy!

Beautiful friendships are treasures money cannot buy. Our gratitude for their presence in our lives extends beyond the measureable. ..just the way nature intended....beautiful. cherished and irreplaceable.

"Faithful Companion" - Horse
Symbol of: Faithful Humanitarian, Strength and Faithfulness of "Heart Spirit"
"Walking the Path of Grace"

True warmth of humanitarian spirit, as we all know, can greatly change the lives of not only those we touch but brings life to our own souls.  Utilizing the beat of the good and right heart and the rightenous of a friendly soul brings incredible energy and beauty to our world.  All of us beginning from childhood dream of having someone of this magnitude in our lives.  The one who reaches out to us with comfort, and helps us continue to meet our missions in life and to each other.

This print was released on the day the world celebrated the life of the late US Senator Ted Kennedy. I wish I had not only met him, but had shared the genuine friendship he had with many.  He was an icon to the world for his heartprint on humanity. He openly admitted to "falling from Grace" which only made him more "human", but the important example was that he put himself back on "the path of Grace".  The stories told were moving, heartwarming, uplifting, humourous, relaxing and truly without a word of a doubt "God in Action".  In the absence of critical judgement , he used his heart to leverage how he could be there for them and pull them through their the crosses they had to bear, made them laugh endlessly with his humour and was the faithful companion to his much loved family, friends and colleagues.  Today, the world in my opinion lost a much loved "hero".

Together, may we on Earth help lead the goodness and greatness of the heart and walk the path of Grace. Together, with shared goodness of intention in all ways big and small, may we help carry on the legacy of God's True Heart Spirit  with our presence and energy.
